Q: What service does House Stories offer?
A: I research the history of your old house using public land records and other resources, then provide you with a an illustrated report of my findings. These include a complete ownership history including biographical details, with an emphasis on the home's earliest owners. The best way to see the level of detail I provide is by reading the sample reports on the Services page.

Q: How much does this service cost?
The cost is $450, which includes all research, writing, printing, and expenses.

Q: Which areas do you service?
A: I research houses in Metro Detroit, including all of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

Q: How old does a house have to be for you to research it?
A: Although there is no minimum age requirement, clients whose houses were built before 1940 will get the most out of this service.

Q: I would like you to research my house. How does the process work?
A: To begin researching your house, I need the property's address and a deposit of $250.00. Checks should be made out to House Stories LLC and mailed to 24500 Orchard Lake Rd., Farmington Hills MI 48336. If you have a specific question about your house's history that you would like me to address in your report, please let me know at the time of ordering. Allow up to four weeks for the research and writing to be completed. Once your report is ready, I will email you a draft PDF for your approval. The $200 balance for the report is due at this point; once received, a hard copy of your report is ordered from a reputable printer and sent to you upon completion.

Q: What if I want more than one hard copy of my report?
A: Additional copies are available for $15 each.
